The Canine Distemper Virus Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of canine Distemper virus antigen (CDV Ag) in secretions from dog’s eyes, nasal cavities, and anus or in serum, plasma specimen.

Introduction
Canine distemper is a viral disease that affects animals in the families’ canidae including dogs, wolves, foxes, etc. The disease is highly contagious and fatal 50% of the time, and making it the leading cause of infectious disease death in dogs. A single-stranded RNA virus is observed as the cause of canine distemper. Despite extensive vaccination, it remains a major disease of dogs. Some typical clinical signs, especially fever, respiratory signs, neurological signs, and thickened footpads occurring in unvaccinated dogs strongly indicate canine distemper. However, some diseases match the similar signs among diseases like canine hepatitis, parainfluenza, influenza, adenovirus, leptospirosis, etc. Thus, a fast and accurate immunological diagnostic method was developed.
